An infused pre-roll is flower with concentrate added to it, such as bubble hash or rosin. A regular pre-roll is ground flower and nothing else. On a Grams package, the difference is printed on the front: an infused product carries the word "Infused" on the front, often with the concentrate named ("Bubble Hash Infused", "Rosin Infused Cannabis Preroll"), while a regular one says "Cannabis Preroll" with no infusion wording anywhere on the front. Because the concentrate changes what's inside, the label and the batch report are what tell you how the two compare, not the word "infused" on its own.
Here's how to read both, using two Grams packages of the same strain side by side.
What is an infused pre-roll?
A pre-roll starts as ground cannabis flower in a paper cone. An infused pre-roll adds a concentrate to that flower. The concentrate is usually named on the package, because it is the part that makes the product different. In the current Grams lineup you'll see these:
Bubble hash is made by separating the resin glands from the plant with ice water. Rosin is generally produced with heat and pressure. Both are concentrates, which means they carry more cannabinoids per gram than the flower they came from. Neither term is a quality ranking, and neither tells you an exact potency. They describe what was added and how it was made.

How do I tell an infused pre-roll from a regular one on the label?
Compare the two Couscous Kush packages. The regular 1g tube reads, top to bottom: Grams, Couscous Kush, Indica, Cannabis Preroll, 1g (0.035oz). The infused five-pack tin reads: Grams, Bubble Hash Infused, Couscous Kush, Indica, New York Grown Small Batch Craft Cannabis, 5 Half Gram Pre-Rolls, Net Wt. 2.5 g.
Same strain name, same Indica label. The words that change are the infusion line and the format. On the rosin pre-rolls the infusion shows up three times: "Infused" above the name, in the name itself ("× Jelly Roller Rosin"), and in the format line ("Rosin Infused Cannabis Preroll"). The OG Kush 2-pack is the one to watch: its format line reads "Cannabis Preroll" like a regular one, and "Infused" appears in the product name. So read the whole front. If a package doesn't say "infused" or mention hash, rosin, kief or another concentrate anywhere, treat it as a flower-only pre-roll and check the batch report to be sure.
| On the package | Regular pre-roll | Infused pre-roll |
|---|---|---|
| Format line | Cannabis Preroll, no infusion wording | "Infused" on the front, e.g. Bubble Hash Infused or Rosin Infused Cannabis Preroll |
| What's inside | Ground flower | Ground flower plus a concentrate (usually named on the package) |
| Example (Grams) | Couscous Kush 1g | Couscous Kush Bubble Hash Infused, 5 × 0.5g |
| Where to confirm | Batch report | Batch report |
Is an infused pre-roll stronger than a regular one?
Usually the infused one contains more THC per gram, because concentrate is added to flower. But "infused" is not a number. How much concentrate went in, and what the finished batch measures, varies from product to product. A regular pre-roll from a high-testing batch can come close to an infused one from a lower-testing batch.
The only reliable comparison is the batch report. Find the batch number on the package and look up its Certificate of Analysis. Compare total THC and total cannabinoids, then look at the terpenes if aroma matters to you. Every Grams batch is tested by a New York licensed lab, and the passing reports are published online. If the batch on your package isn't listed yet, ask at the counter.

Why are the bubble hash five-packs half grams?
The two bubble hash five-packs are half-gram pre-rolls, while the regular Couscous Kush and the two rosin pre-rolls are single 1g tubes. A five-pack lets you open one and keep the rest sealed in the tin. The total on the tin (2.5g) is what you're buying; the line above it (5 Half Gram Pre-Rolls) tells you how it's split.
Weight on its own doesn't tell you potency. A 0.5g infused pre-roll and a 1g regular pre-roll can't be compared by weight alone. Read the cannabinoid figures on the label and the batch report for both.
Which should I choose?
A few practical questions help more than the word infused does:
Whichever you pick, start low, wait before having more, and keep it sealed and out of reach of anyone under 21.
