A delivery charge and a gratuity are different items. An article should not present an unsupported tipping percentage as a citywide norm or make assumptions about how an employer distributes payments.
Read the description of each charge
A fee labeled “delivery” or “service” is not automatically a tip. If a receipt is unclear, ask the business for an explanation of the charge.
Payment policies need direct confirmation
Do not assume that a payment method accepted for one purpose is permitted for another. This guide does not establish which gratuity methods are accepted.
Why the earlier figures were removed
The earlier version stated typical tip amounts, driver pay arrangements and payout methods without supporting records. Those statements have been removed because they could not be verified.
