Cannabis concentrates differ in texture, composition and intended use. The package and batch report document some of those differences; neither can establish that a product is the safest option for an individual.
Common concentrate terms
Labels may describe products as resin, rosin, distillate, wax, shatter or another concentrate type. These terms describe processing or texture; they do not guarantee a particular experience. Ask how the product is intended to be used and follow the package directions.
Read potency as information, not a quality score
Concentrates often contain more THC by weight than flower. Higher potency does not automatically mean better quality or a better fit. Review the cannabinoid information, serving guidance and warnings before purchase, especially if you are unfamiliar with concentrated products.
Check the extraction method and ingredients
Rosin is generally produced using heat and pressure, while resin and distillate involve different extraction and refinement steps. For formulated products, read the complete ingredient list rather than assuming the product contains only cannabis extract.
Match the package to the batch COA
Use the batch identifier and QR code or web link on the package to locate the correct Certificate of Analysis. The report can provide measured cannabinoid results and contaminant testing information for that production lot.
Store and use the product as labeled
Keep concentrates in their original child-resistant package, store them securely away from children and pets, and use only equipment intended for the product format. Never drive after consuming cannabis.
