The highest THC percentage is not automatically the best product for every person or every occasion. A better shopping conversation also considers aroma, terpene profile, product format, freshness and how much you plan to consume.
Start with aroma
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in cannabis and many other plants. Product labels and laboratory reports may list dominant terpenes, but your nose is also useful: citrus, pine, floral, fuel and earthy notes can help you identify profiles you enjoy.
Use the lab report as context
A Certificate of Analysis can show measured cannabinoids and terpenes for a specific batch. Treat those numbers as information, not a guaranteed prediction of how a product will feel. Individual responses vary.
Match the format to the situation
Flower, pre-rolls, edibles and vapes have different onset, duration and serving considerations. Choosing the right format and amount is often more important than chasing a few extra percentage points.
Keep notes on what works for you
Record the product, batch, serving size, aroma and your own experience. Over time, patterns are more useful than broad indica or sativa labels.
A useful goal is not finding the strongest product. It is finding a product you understand and can use responsibly.
